Easter and our 2 year anniversary

Alayna experienced her first Easter!  We didn't really do much for Easter this year but I figure that thats ok because Alayna isn't quite old enough yet to really care.  We never colored Easter eggs or had an Easter egg hunt... but we did boil a bunch of eggs for snacking! :)  The Easter bunny came during Alayna's nap on Sunday afternoon and then we had salmon and broccoli for our Easter dinner.  After that we just took it easy and went for a walk later.  Next year for Easter I will make sure Alayna gets to experience dying Easter eggs and go on an Easter egg hunt. ;)

Brady and I had our 2 year anniversary!  I can't believe we have already been married for 2 whole years!  Sometimes it doesn't feel like we have been married very long and other times it feels like it has been 2 years.  We have done so much stuff since we have been married!  Definitely done a lot of 1st for me!  I moved out of my parent's house, went to Disneyland twice, moved to Oregon, moved to Texas, got pregnant, had a baby, graduated from BYU-I, drove through a lot of states I had never been too, get to really see the Ocean (1st time was really foggy), water skiing...  None of those are in any particular order.  We have probably done more things, I just can't think of them all.  I just can't believe how much stuff we have done since we got married!  I am really excited to see what the next year brings!

Anyways we went on a date for our anniversary on the 13th because the 10th was on Tuesday.  Yes, we went on a date WITHOUT Alayna!!!  This is like our first date that we have been on since Alayna was born.  (Alayna is 9 months now! Crazy!!) Our home teacher offered to babysit Alayna for us and so we took him up on his offer.  We dropped Alayna off at their house and went to the cheap seats and saw a movie.  We saw the movie "Gone" and we really liked it!  And this movie was filmed in Portland!  I just thought that it was cool that it was filmed there.

Anyways, after the movie we went to Walmart to buy some more diapers and some cans of baby food before we went to pick Alayna up.  I was really worried because when we knocked on the door I could hear Alayna just screaming!  When they opened the door I saw my sweet girl with big huge crocodile tears going down her cheeks.  I took her and she calmed down and even started laughing a few minutes later at the babysitter's crazy 3 year old boy.  I was really happy because Megan (the babysitter) said that Alayna had just started crying like 2 minutes before we showed up.  I was worried she had been crying the whole time!  Megan said that Alayna did really good and was happy the whole time!  She just played with their toys and crawled after their 3 year old as he rode around on his little bike.  Alayna loved that little boy!  I guess we need to give Alayna a sibling soon!  But not too soon!!

It felt really good to finally get to go out on a real date with just Brady and I and without Alayna.  Even though I was worried about her the whole time! Haha.  Oh well, I guess that's just part of being a parent.

Wearing her new Easter dress Grandma Rhodehouse got her

Easter Sunday!

I kept taking pictures of her and she is like "Stop!" Haha

The Easter Bunny came! (Aka Grandma Rhodehouse's package.)  Grandma Fielding's package didn't make it to us. :(

Look what the Easter Bunny brought you!

So happy!

Alayna LOVES to stand up!

Alayna's 2nd ER trip and her first teeth!

So the night before the huge tornadoes storm we had a little bit of a rough night.  We had to take Alayna in to the children's hospital.  Yes, her 2nd ER trip.  (Little stinker!)  This time it was not for a high temperature.  She kept throwing up!  It was so sad because she was just whining and you could tell that she was hurting but there wasn't anything Brady and I could do to take her pain away.  Finally at like 2:30a.m. after she had thrown up 4 times, (twice on me) we took her to the hospital.  I was worried she was getting dehydrated but the nurse said she was doing ok. I was told to just nurse her a little bit and see if she can hold it down.  She gave me signs to look for so I would know if I needed to bring her back.

We got home around 5:30 a.m. and Alayna slept for about 2 more hours before she woke up and threw up 2 more times and starting really whining again.  I just tried to think of what my mom did for me when I was throwing up and I remembered that my mom always had me sit in a warm bath and so that's what I did.  Alayna and I got in the bath tub and she immediately stopped whimpering and just fell asleep in there.  When she woke up I gave her a teaspoon of pedialyte, nursed her a little and she never threw up again.

The day before, Brady and I got to babysit a little 6 month old boy for a few hours.  It was kinda fun and it gave us a little taste of what it would be like if we would of had twins.  Yeah, it wasn't as easy as when we only have Alayna to take care of!  Haha.

Alayna and Adam

Also, Alayna has not 1, but 2 teeth now!  Our poor little goose!  Alayna always wakes up a time or two in the night but she always goes right back to sleep.  Both times when her tooth was coming in she would wake up more than that but also not go back to sleep right away.  With her first tooth I put this gel on her gum that is supposed to numb that spot.  My theory is that she is allergic to it because the one day I put it on her a few times was the night she kept throwing up.  I haven't used it since.

Alayna has also started crawling like a big girl!!  She has just been army crawling for like a month now.  She got to the point where she would crawl up on her knees if she wanted to go a short distance but then plop back down to her tummy and army crawl when she wanted to go a far distance.  It was really funny!  Now she crawls up on her knees all the time!  And now she is ALWAYS pulling herself up to stand!  She crawls to whatever she can hold onto and then stands up!  It is just so cute!!

Using the jogging stroller to help her stand. "Good job Sweet Pea!"
Another good pic with Dad

Cheesing it! Lol

Tornadoes!

I know that my last post started out talking about a tornado warning but a while ago we REALLY experienced a tornado warning!  Last time was nothing compared to the one we just experienced!

I really had no idea that there was possible tornadoes coming our way, I just knew that it was stormy outside.  We were just going on with life and Alayna and I were talking a nap during the storm. (We spent the night in the ER with Alayna again!  Boo!!)  I got a text from my brother Bryce that woke me up asking if we were ok because of the big tornado in Fort Worth.  I was like what?!  I jumped up and looked out the window at the big black sky and told Brady what Bryce had just said.

We immediately turned on the computer to check the storm and just a few minutes later we heard the tornado sirens go off!  Brady said a blessing that we would be safe during the storm and then we started packing up to leave.  I woke Alayna from her nap and we were heading down the steps of our apartment and our downstairs neighbors were out just watching the storm and cussing as if they were watching a tunnel form!  We stopped to talk to them for a while and they said that it would not be safe to get in the car and try to drive away.  They said we could sit in their bath tub because it is safer in their apartment because they had the lowest floor.  We all just watched the storm outside and we even saw some clouds right above us rotating and our neighbor's said that that was a tornado trying to form!  And then we had a few pieces of hail the size of golf balls and one hit right next to my foot and shattered!  We spent a while in our neighbors apartment watching the news and the storm outside.  There were tornadoes happening all around us!

After a while we decided that we were just going to wait it out in our own apartment and if we knew if anything was coming then we would run down to their bath tub.  The tornados lasted until like 8 p.m.  There was something like a dozen tornadoes that day in our Dallas County!  I feel so blessed that one of those tornadoes didn't come through our apartment complex!  Now they say we have some more possible tornadoes coming in this weekend.  I hope that we are blessed again and that the tornadoes just "miss" us!
