Alayna got a crib

We finally got Alayna a crib!  Actually, my mom and dad got it for her and had it shipped out to us.  I am so happy she has a crib now because she was getting way too big for her pack n' play.  I guess this is one of her early birthday presents since she is almost one!  Crazy!!  Thank you so much mom and dad!  Alayna sure is lucky to have you as a Grandma and Grandpa! 

All About Alayna

This post is going to be all about Alayna because my life pretty much revolves around her and I love it!  Right now she is 11 months old and as cute as can be!  She is now walking and says "Mama" a lot.  She loves loves loves to eat big people food and nurse.  She is the most active baby I have ever seen!  She is always busy doing something and going somewhere.  Haha.  It is nearly impossible to sit through any meeting at church so Brady and I take turns following Alayna in the hall.  People always comment on how active she is.  At church a few weeks ago she was crawling down the halls really fast with her head down panting like a puppy and almost ran into the wall a few times. Lol.  It was really funny to watch.

 Alayna is our little puppy!  I decided this a long time ago because she always pants like a puppy when she is excited.  She begs for food whenever we are eating something, and I always let her eat cheerios off the floor.  Haha.  Alayna also loves stuffed animals!  She already has like 10 stuffed animals!  I am pretty sure she gets this from her mama because growing up I always had like 20 of my stuffed animals sleep at the foot of my bed with me.  Alayna also likes going to the gym and playing with the toys there and the other kids.  I am so happy about this because the first few times I left her at the day care, she cried the whole time.  Now whenever I put her down she crawls off to play before she even hits the ground!  We just love her so much and I can't imagine life without my best buddy!

Hiking

This past weekend we went hiking and had a blast!  We bought a hiking back pack off of Craig's list so that we could carry Alayna.  We had so much fun!!

 

First Steps!

It's official.  Alayna's walking!!!  It was the cutest thing ever when she took her first steps.  Brady had just gotten home from work and was playing with Alayna.  She was just so happy to see him that she walked across the floor in our bedroom to get to him!  Brady and I both started cheering and clapping our hands.  Alayna didn't know what was going on but she joined the fun and squealed and clapped her own hands too!  It was the cutest thing ever!  This happened on June 7th.  She was 6 days shy of being 11 months old.  Here is a video of her walking.  She has already been walking for over a week now in this video. 

  

Where we are now

Okay, so I have slacked off a bit from our blog and a lot has happened in a short amount of time.  First of all we moved back to Oregon and we are no longer living in Texas.  Hallelujah!  We lived in the Dallas area for about 7 months and that was enough Dallas for me.  No more tornado storms, no more weird bugs, no more crazy Dallas drivers, no extreme heat, no more rude Dallas people, no more being one of the only white people around, and most importantly NO MORE COCKROACHES!  I can NOT emphasize enough how much I hated those cock roaches we lived with for 7 months!  Okay, I know that sounded like I really hated living there but I actually did enjoy our time there and I think that it was a great experience.  We went there and did what we wanted to do.  Brady got his accelerated science classes done so that he can start Chiropractic school a lot sooner.  Brady also did AWESOME in all of his classes and got all A's and B's.

Right now we are living in an apartment in Gresham, Oregon.  Brady is back working for his Dad cutting down trees until October when he will finally be starting Chiropractic school.  We love it here and we really like our apartment.  Before we moved back to Oregon I told Brady that I almost wanted to stay there in Texas because I loved how the sun shined every day.  Brady told me that if we went back to Oregon then we could get me a gym membership to make up for all the lost sunny days.  I gladly accepted his offer and we now live in an apartment right across the street from a Cascade Athletic Club.  Best. Decision. Ever!!  I am allowed to leave Alayna in the day care for up to an hour and a half every day and I sure do use it!  Alayna loves going to the gym every day and playing with all the other kids and the toys!
